What is Homelesshelp.io?
Homelesshelp.io is a resource directory for homeless and low-income individuals and families in the United States. It provides information on over 235 organizations in 33 cities to quickly help find potential resources
Key Functionality
Search
Quick-access to filters for state, city and required service are available on the home page and a dedicated search page.
The results page features detailed information about each organization, including contact information and a brief description of their services. On desktop, the user also has an interactive map to the right of the results if they’d like to explore by a specific location. On mobile, there is an interactive map displayed to the user below the results.
Organizations, Locations and Services
Each detail page for an organization features a full description of the organization, all contact information available and any other relevant details, such as nearby organizations and a clickable map of the organization’s location.
User Favorites and Submissions
Logged in users are always able to save their favorite Organizations for quick access, as well as manage/view any Organization submissions they’ve made to the platform.
Admin Dashboard
The Admin Dashboard provides simple Organization, Location, User and External Link management to have a great top-level view of all site data and activity.
This allows quick-look stats and a simple way to manage all Organizations and easily toggle their statuses if necessary. It also provides quick access to manage/remove users when needed.
A background process validates all external links to organizations, with results displayed on the dashboard. This highlights potentially inactive websites or social media accounts, allowing admins to maintain current organization data.
